Air pollution causes over 6.5 million annual deaths across the globe. 1 million plastic drinking bottles are purchased every minute, and 5 trillion single-use plastic bags are thrown away each year. In 2021, human beings discarded approximately 63.3 million U.S. tons of electronic waste.

As people become increasingly aware of environmental issues, interest in environmental conservation and sustainable lifestyles has significantly spiked. We see both large scale conglomerates and small local businesses moving to provide more environmentally friendly products and services. 

 

However, people still struggle to live a sustainable lifestyle.

 

Currently, there is no existing platform that concentrates sustainable resources in one place. It is difficult to pinpoint which businesses and organizations are eco-friendly on conventional mapping platforms like Google Maps or Yelp. Local sustainable brands often receive limited exposure. There is work to be done to bridge eco-conscious consumers and local green businesses.

Our mission is to assist people’s transitions to a sustainable lifestyle. Our app, MVMNT, helps people make sustainable choices in their everyday lives. App users can discover green businesses through our map, connect with local environmental organizations through our activism network, and make sustainable purchases through our product store.

 

Our team believes that vision with action can change the world. Through MVMNT, we aim to gather a diverse community of environmentally conscious people, businesses, and activist organizations. Together, we can build an effective and powerful environmental movement to fight for a clean Earth.
